You sit there,
Staring at the door,
A door that's closed along with the windows.
They're closed tight with a lock.
And it seems you lost the key.
And so you get up and look out the dirty window,
And even though your eyes are looking,
Your mind is elsewhere, in your own trapped little world.
So you turn and go upstairs,
Up and up, those creaking stairs,
And you look back down,
And to your surprise you see,
Darkness.
It seems night fell.
But did you notice?
Or didn't you because you were off in your own trapped little world?
So you stare down into the Darkness for a moment,
And then you turn and walking away,
Leaving it all behind.
You continue up until you reach the hall,
And you gaze about, seeing all the locked doors.
Trying to escape, you ram a door,
But did you forget?
The doors and windows are all locked.
Because you're off in your own trapped little world.
So you sigh,
And you look up at the ceiling,
And ask,
"Where is the key?
I'm trapped in here
But I can't find a key."
And something replies-
"You are trapped,
But not in this house.
You are trapped,
In your own little world."
And the one that replied
Sees you awaken
In your bed.
Your eyes wide open-
You think,
"What? I am...free?
I guess I just needed to see
That I was trapped, in my own little world.
